A blog that takes life when prompted, another of just words; both has a common thread – dreams. Today’s Review Tuesday focuses its no-so-cursory glance on the former of these blogs, “'Promp'ted to write”, authored by a blogger known to her readers simply as “adreamygal”.
Who is adreamygal?
Adreamygal is a blogger from India. Her profile mentions no further details than that.
What’s her blog look like?
Prompted to write, the blog on focus, uses the default designer template, Picture Window, offered by Blogspot. The post background is white through a translucent outer layer, and has a green background of four leaf clovers (heart shaped petals). The single sidebar holds a link to her other blog, the followers widget, blog archive, labels list and visitor count. The blog according to archives has been in existence since November 2010 and has to date 50 posts. As a blogger, she has been there since June 2009.
The poetry here is simple and beautiful. From the 50 posts, one can see that the majority of them are haikus, and her passion for them has been there since the early stages of her blogging. Other than the haikus, there is also free form and fiction in the blog. That she’s trying to better herself with each post is evident from most of her works. That’s a good sign for sure.
Which posts to recommend for you to read? Well, fiction lovers can try her recent stories “Again”, which tells the story of two lovers, using an image that would never otherwise find a romantic take to it; and then “Special”, which tells us life, is special. There is joy even in the hardest of situations, only if we believe. For lovers of haiku, there are enough selections to read, "Insomnia" the best of the lot. And from her free form poetry, I recommend the post “Still”, which shares the warmth of the smile to a frozen frown.
She writes for a variety of memes, from Potluck to Haiku Heights, OSI to 3 Word Wednesday and writes at a regular rate, giving quality in quantity too.
Just continue writing the way you’re doing. You’re headed in the right direction. If you can, add some generic details about yourself, so your readers can get to know something about you and your poetry.
