Poem of the Week -"Color, Spring and Rainbow"

This week's Monday prompt ""Color, Spring and Rainbow"" had many wonderful submissions from many creative writers in Jingle Poetry .Each one has their own creative input for the given prompt on the Colorful season.I love Spring where little birds sing and also colorful flowers decorating the garden and the roadside. And when it drizzles ,dont forget to see the rainbow necklace on the maiden on the blue sky .My daughter said that there will be a treasure on the rainbow. Her teacher said it seems when telling her a story :) .Hope where the rainbow ends, maybe we can really find some treasure there ;) .I have never seen a full circle rainbow till now .If anyone comes across one like that ,dont forget to post that link in our Jingle Poetry :D .

So again among so many wonderful poems,I have selected a poem by Dunstan Carter 'sThe Sunlight of Spring " for the Poem of the Week today.

His poem is simple ,elegant and to the point. As you read his poem ,you can find that you are taken into his imaginative world for each word in the poem  .Its a lovely take on the prompt and I enjoyed it.Hope you like it too.

The Sunlight of Spring

The sunlight of spring

Has met

Its unknown friends,
A smile that lights your face
Like limestone
In a quarry
Feasting on a glow
That no-one sees,
Except the mice
That hunt for breadcrumbs
Near a house
That’s filled with cheese.
I have everything
They’ll ever need,
I have answers
Left by blind men
And the sights
They’ll never see,
I have talk that climbs
The tallest trees
And ideas
They wont believe.
I am wood rot in the winter,
Wild grass in the sun,
A stranger that you’ve nearly met,
A lace that’s come undone.

so stunning choice, uma,

He is a dark horse,
Glad to see you dig him out and expose him to the public.
