POETRY POTLUCK - Trips, Travel and Vacation

Monday's here, guys and gals!! And so are we!!

We (Kavita and Aleza) delightedly welcome you again to Poetry Potluck... This week, it's fun, fun and more fun with Trips, Travel and Vacation!! Come on now.. hop on this joyride ...

Register yourself (with your name and the link to your potluck entry) using InLinkz below, and leave a comment with a pointer to your post! It would be great if you could link back to us on your blog!!! Once you are done with this, visit other participants (at least 6), read their entries, comment, AND ENJOY!!! Of course, you can always submit any poem of your choice as well...

Remember: Every week, InLinkz will be up on Sunday, at 8pm (CDT), and will stay open till Wednesday, 8pm (CDT). So you will have 72 hours to share your poem with us...COOL huh?!! Also, if you aren't new to Poetry Potluck, please note that we may not send you weekly reminders. So, it would be awesome if you could add us to your Blogroll or Favorites, so that you can stay updated with the happenings on our site!!

Flash Forward!! After this packing and vacationing, how about some good ol' recollection... with Photographs,  Memories and Nostalgia!!?! But that's next week! So you have one entire week to prepare your poem for this theme.. :) And if you are unable to submit a poem ON the theme, relax... Send in an older poem you would love to share with us...

And now, LET'S GET STARTED with this week's potluck!!!! Enjoy the VIDEO here and write on... Thanks for joining in and supporting your fellow poets here at OUR favorite Poetry Potluck!!!

Countdown
(by Blaga)

How swiftly the suitcase absconds the dust
How elegantly the clothes escape the cupboard
Flip-flops and a map, boldly the zip stabs the air

How edgy the twilight before dawn appears
How unfairly distant the airport seems
Images and a feverish mind, horizons await

How laden with sparkles the heart pounds
How strikingly sublime the moment flares
Craving a trip, riveting a vacation, I travel today

deceiving our self of the reality.
***
Thank you, Blaga, for this super WOW and heartfelt poem... A perfect description of that butterflies-in-the-stomach feeling ;-)

Hey, this is one flight that won't result in jet lag ... unless you stay up late reading...

Poem on, dear friends, and have fun.

Thanks to Kavita and Aleza for all their work and to Blaga for a fab poem. I already read it and love it as I do all her work.

Well done everybody.

Happy Potluck!

For the first time, I submitted two poems. One silly and fiction- the other, I travel back in time to the truth. : )

Thought of giving it a miss. But finally managed to put together a poem which incidentally is a rondel also. (I am closely following poetry classes at one stop poetry). It can be found here http://luciferhouseinc.blogspot.com/2011/03/vacations.html
