Welcome to the first Poetry Potluck of 2011!!!!
After a short break for the new year, here we are... BACK to Poetry Potluck!! And we (Amanda and Kavita) are as pleased as ever to see you all mapping out this amazing Journey and the Road Ahead!!!!!
Register yourself (with your name and the link to your potluck entry) using InLinkz below, and leave a comment with a pointer to your post! It would be great if you could link back to us on your blog!!! Once you are done with this, visit other participants (at least 6), read their entries, comment, AND ENJOY!!! Of course, you can always submit any poem of your choice as well...
Remember: Every week, InLinkz will be up on Sunday, at 8pm (CST), and will stay open till Wednesday, 8pm (CST). So you will have 72 hours to share your poem with us...COOL huh?!! Also, if you aren't new to Poetry Potluck, please note that we may not send you weekly reminders. So, it would be awesome if you could add us to your Blogroll or Favorites, so that you can stay updated with the happenings on our site!! :))
Flash Forward!! After beginning this year with some insights on the future, it might be a good idea to get poetic on all those Languages, Signs and Symbols!! You will have one entire week to prepare your poem for this theme.. :) And if you are unable to submit a poem ON the theme, relax... Send in an older poem you would love to share with us...
And now, LET'S GET STARTED with this week's potluck!!!! Enjoy the VIDEO here and write on... Thanks for joining in and supporting your fellow poets here at OUR favorite Poetry Potluck!!!
Calling (triolet version)
Thread some truth into your calling,
hunt your sun and burn it slow.
Between the unsung and the falling,
thread some truth into your calling.
Sweat the passion compelled to sew,
between highlights and lost downlow;
thread some truth into your calling,
hunt your sun and burn it slow.
Calling (rondel version)
Thread some truth into your calling,
hunt your sun and burn it slow.
Between the unsung and the known,
thread some truth into your calling.
Sweat the passion compelled to sew,
between highlights and lost downlow
thread some truth into your calling,
hunt your sun and burn it slow.
Vain party fools, let them go
and lovers, pretty, petty, falling.
olympic rowers pull oars in hauling;
saplings, sentient, see how to grow.
Thread some truth into your calling,
hunt your sun and burn it slow.

I was on a spiritual journey and due to that I was busy not only on the preparations for the same also at inner level, as I need to detach myself from external things in order to live Ashram life at Sivananda Ashram Rishikesh.
Look forward to enjoying great verses from such a talented people here...

Hi everyone, my poem is posted...will do my best to visit other Potlucker's as soon as I can. My youngest daughter has chicken pox and didn't sleep last night at all. :(
As always Luke, excellent! I love the Triolet, it's my favorite of both styles. :))
Done, Happy Potluck everyone!
I shall visit a few more if time permits...
HI Jingle, thanks again for the invite.I'm not sure if I 'added' the link correctly. Just off to have a quick look around your blog...have a fun rest of the week...xPenx
(aka LadyP)
I had trouble getting parts of the site to open (hence my last minute appearance), but all seems in order now. The two poems are gems. I find both of those forms difficult to manage, but you have excelled with each, particularly the triolet. It simply took my breath away.
Thanks also for a superb prompt.
Try to get here early next time
Thank you for allowing me to participate...I've read so many fine poems this week.
Thanks, Scent of My Heart for your kind words and heads up for week 18 theme. much appreciated :)i'll be there.. enjoying this poet community very much ;) -robin
