POETRY POTLUCK - Beaches and Mountains...

It's Monday - POTLUCK time again!!!!

Hello and WELCOME back to Poetry Potluck!!!

In a flash, four fun and fabulous potluck weeks are over, and now we are into the fifth!! And once again, we (Amanda and Kavita) are as pleased as ever to welcome you into a peaceful world of beaches and mountains and cool breezes and calm lakes... Take a deep breath, and BEGIN!!!!

Register yourself (with your name and the link to your potluck entry) using InLinkz below, and leave a comment with a pointer to your post! It would be great if you could link back to us on your blog!!!  Once you are done with this, visit other participants, read their entries, comment, AND ENJOY!!!  The theme for this week is Beaches and Mountains. So let your imagination soar along the heights, and immerse in the silky sands... write on! Of course, you can always submit any poem of your choice as well...

Remember: Every week, InLinkz will be up on Sunday, at 8pm (CDT), and will stay open till Wednesday, 8am (CDT). So you will have 60 hours to share up to 3 poems with us...HOW COOL IS THAT!!
Flash Forward!! We have been too good thus far. We decided to break the spell, and the theme for next week will be "Seven DEADLY Sins"... You will have a week to prepare your poems for this theme.. :)

With this, LET'S GET STARTED with this week's potluck!!!! Watch the VIDEO here and let those creative spirits flow!!! Thanks for joining in and supporting your fellow poets and our favorite Poetry Potluck!!!

“ocean calling”

from the mountains I long for the far away sea
in the dewy mist of morning
I stand on a peak 'neath a clear blue sky
beaming sunlight mountain adorning
like purple pleats of royal robes
over granite shoulders falling
flow riveled foothills and deeping hallows
ancient echoes of the ocean calling
from near the horizon beyond the offing
drawing my eye to that blanket of blue
waves as they rush upon a golden shore
carry this mountain heart of mine
the foothills and hallows of a mountain heart
across the roaming, foaming sea to you

It's very creative to honor a poet's theme poem in the post, wow, one poem from a special poet shines among more than 100 poets, upon more than 200 entries, it serves everyone a authentic and delicious dish...

love the poem, Tracy.
Enjoyed the entire post, Amanda and Kavita...

have fun, boys and girls...

Mountains and beaches have been the background to most of my life. My effort isn't poetic in a sense but it's heartfelt. And the accompanying verses are lyrical to make-up for that.
